Building Android app and testing on Device

I have been trying to build an Android version of my Curdbee app. I bought a ZTE Racer phone running Android 2.2. This seems to be a fairly representitive of the Android ecosystem, and therefore good for development.

Strangely when connecting to my MacBook Pro via USB port it is not recognised when using the ‘front’ USB connector. You have to use the ‘back’ USB port, the one next to the Display Port. Wasted half a day trying to work out what was going on.

Strange….

Curdbee App is working !

Curdbee

I have started work on a Curdbee.com iPhone app, and progress is good.

The app can:

  • Store user credentials: UserID and API token
  • Login via the API and retrieve JSON data
  • Process the data and present useful data that cannot be found on the web app.

I have enlisted some beta testers, distributed Development profiles and an early build.

Hopefully I can submit my MVP, to the appstore within a week, and then get some feedback about what feautures people will want next.

The initial price will be Tier 1, which mean 99c US.

Full steam ahead….
